The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) is pleased to announce the launch of the International Land Coalition (ILC) Rangelands Initiative website.

As the coordinator of the Rangelands Initiative Global, ILRI has led the design and production of the website over the past two years. Our big idea has been to bring together documents, photos and input from members of the International Land Coalition (ILC) into a single repository.

The who and what

The ILC Rangelands Initiative is a global program connecting, facilitating learning and building the capacity of different actors who are working to make rangelands more tenure secure. The program works through ILC members, international partners and ILC commitment-based initiatives in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

The new website provides an insight into what the Rangelands Initiative does, our partners and where we work. We consolidate news, events and social media posts relating to rangelands, and share photos from our partners through our Flickr site. In addition to regular news updates on our blog, in our resources section you will find publications such as issue and research papers, leaflets, manuals and briefs.

What to expect

We will provide regular updates and continue to develop and grow the website. We have plans for assisting our regional platforms in Africa and Asia to develop their own region-focused pages, whilst also providing space to disseminate information on some of the ILC rangelands-focused flagship projects. In addition, we need your help in populating the Flickr site with photos on rangelands from around the world, joining our campaigns and contributing blogs on rangelands issues, events and activities.

Visit our website and support the global effort towards sustainable rangelands and pastoralism!
